Coronavirus Pandemic

Life has changed with the Coronavirus pandemic that has engulfed the whole world over the last few months. In Pakistan, we have been under a lockdown for many weeks. The retail stores are slowly opening which hopefully will mean recovery. At Jafferjees, the safety of our customers and employees is paramount and we are taking all the necessary precautions to ensure that everyone who comes to our stores remains safe. The Jafferjees team, as per practice, is going above and beyond government safety regulations as we work to open up our retail outlets to customers. We are cleaning, disinfecting and ensuring social distancing for all our patrons that visit our stores. To see a list of our stores that are open with their timings, click here. Below, we also answer some common questions that our customers may have on the Coronavirus pandemic.

Does Coronavirus survive on leather? While we are not medical experts, our research suggests that the Coronavirus cannot live for very long on soft and coarse surfaces such as leather as compared to hard and smooth surfaces such as metal, plastics and glass. On leather, the virus can only survive for a few hours and this time frame may be even lower under hot conditions, such as in Pakistan.

How do I clean my Jafferjees product? It is important to note that leather can discolour if it is cleaned with commonly-available disinfectants and sanitizers. Under no circumstances, should you use these on your Jafferjees product. Our recommendation would be to let your product sit for 12 hours to ensure that the virus has decomposed and then clean it with a moist cloth or cream. We have been here since 1880 and always remain ready to help you if you need.

Stay safe and together we will beat this.
